Amazon MGM Confirms Multiple New James Bond Projects and Casting Updates
Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed several upcoming James Bond projects following Daniel Craig's departure. These include a new film, novels, an audio drama, and a comic book series, expanding the iconic franchise in various media formats.
Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly nearing the end of its search for the next James Bond following Daniel Craig’s exit in No Time to Die (2021). However, the film is not the only 007 project in development. Since Amazon acquired the rights to the franchise, multiple projects have been announced, showcasing a renewed commitment to the iconic character.
Among the new offerings, Ian Fleming Publications has released several novels in the past year, including The Q Mysteries' Quantum of Menace and The Man with the Golden Compass, as well as the third entry in the Double O trilogy, Hurricane Room. Earlier this year, IO Interactive launched 007 First Light, a third-person action-adventure game featuring Patrick Gibson as a young Bond who embarks on a journey to “earn the number.” This game adds another layer to the Bond universe, engaging fans in interactive storytelling.
In terms of audio content, Young Bond: SilverFin is an upcoming audio drama series from Big Finish Productions. Adapted from Higson’s 2005 novel, it follows a teenage James Bond at Eton, voiced by Isaac Rouse. The story promises a thrilling adventure, taking Bond from the playing fields of Eton to the depths of Loch Silverfin, where a monstrous secret threatens global stability. This eight-hour series will be released on October 29, divided into 16 half-hour episodes.

Another exciting project is James Bond and the Secret Agent Academy, a novel where 007 mentors young MI6 recruits. According to IanFleming.com, this series will take Bond into the classroom, where he guides a new generation of heroes through challenges both academic and perilous. Aimed at younger readers aged 8-12, this book is scheduled for release in April 2027.
Further expanding the Bond universe, IDW Publishing is set to release a new comic book series titled Sunbreaker, written by the acclaimed Grant Morrison. Morrison expressed his enthusiasm for the project, likening the opportunity to write for Bond to taking on legendary characters like King Arthur and Sherlock Holmes.
